Building Small: American Folk Art Houses and Structures
.
A magical gathering of American folk art buildings reveals much about culture, clever craftsmanship, and our architectural history. Houses and churches, Ferris wheels and factories, castles and carousels – more than 200 structures from the country’s largest collection made largely by anonymous persons from about 1890 until about 1950. The visually rich temporary exhibit, loaned by North Carolinians Steven Burke and Randy Campbell, shows the remarkable imagination with which Americans have rendered small the places of their community, history, or personal vision.
