Bring your family and friends, chairs and blankets, and sit back and listen to great music from local Asheville bands and watch the river flow by!!! We will have local wines for sale and some of the best food. You are welcomed to bring your own wine. This is not a “wine tasting” as would have to charge you a lot more! Representatives from local wineries will be here to tell you about their wines, locations, and how they see our area becoming a wine mecca! Register for our course; “How to Be Cool while Selecting Wines” presented by wine aficionado Mike Kolker. Check out local food producers and the variety of unique food produced here in WNC. Arrive early and take a great float trip down the French Broad River with Asheville Outdoor Center. See the lists of their trips at http://www.paddlewithus.com. They also offer “Gem Mining” and lots of space for kids to enjoy themselves. Bring your own picnic, grill, and remember – please invite everyone you know – this is a pivotal movement for the future of Western North Carolina’s Wine Industry! Plan to join us at Asheville Outdoor Center (http://www.paddlewithus.com/) on Amboy Road next to Carrier Park, as we share wine and food, and show our support for Asheville's first Wine and Food Festival in 2010! This event is sponsored by Slow Food Asheville, RiverLink, Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project and WNC Magazine. We want you to show your support for what will be a fantastic Wine and Food Festival for WNC in 2010.
